Atlanta Falcons GM says team won't trade RB Tevin Coleman

The Atlanta Falcons do not intend on trading backup running back Tevin Coleman, general manager Thomas Dimitroff told an Atlanta radio station on Monday.
"We are not considering trading Tevin Coleman, period," Dimitroff told WZGC-FM. "He's an important part of this organization. And our focus is on this upcoming year, and a trade is not in our thought process."
There was some speculation that Coleman could be moved after Devonta Freeman inked a five-year, $41.25 million extension that also included more than $22 million in guaranteed salary.
However, at the team's season-ending news conference following a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round, Dimitroff said the team could "realistically" sign Coleman to an extension.
Coleman was Atlanta's 2015 third-round pick out of Indiana and is entering the final season of his rookie contract. He is due to make $791,268 and Atlanta's salary cap hit is $977,959.
In three seasons, Coleman has made six starts. He has 14 career rushing touchdowns and six touchdown receptions. His 4.3 yards per carry is the same average as Freeman.
